Santilli to visit provinces to secure support for labor reform

The Minister of the Interior, Diego Santilli, will travel this week to the provinces of Corrientes and Misiones to meet with Governors Juan Pablo Valdés and Hugo Passalacqua, respectively, to secure new support for the labor reform. Both Valdés and Passalacqua belong to political spaces allied with La Libertad Avanza (LLA): the former is part of Provincias Unidas and the latter is an exponent of the Frente Renovador de la Concordia. Official sources indicated to the Noticias Argentinas agency that the dates for the meetings had not yet been set and confirmed that Santilli will participate this Tuesday in La Derecha Fest in Mar del Plata, where he will accompany President Javier Milei. Following Santilli's tour, the Government has already secured the support of eight governors: Rogelio Frigerio (Entre Ríos); Alfredo Cornejo (Mendoza); Leandro Zdero (Chaco); Gustavo Sáenz (Salta); Marcelo Orrego (San Juan), Rolando Figueroa (Neuquén) and Alberto Weretilneck (Río Negro). If support is secured in Corrientes and Misiones, the number of supporting provinces would rise to 10. Meanwhile, the Government's political mesa defined this Monday that the agenda for the extraordinary February sessions will be focused on the labor reform and modifications to the Juvenile Penal Law to lower the age of criminal responsibility for minors. The Chief of Cabinet, Manuel Adorni, confirmed that the treatment of the Juvenile Penal Law will be part of the agenda for the extraordinary sessions along with the labor reform project.
